Copyright Notice

All content on this website, including house plans, floor plans, 2D and 3D artwork, technical drawings, architectural renderings, images, photos, videos, designs, and written materials, is protected under United States federal copyright laws. Unauthorized reproduction, redistribution, or modification of any content in any form is strictly prohibited.

Federal Copyright Law protects All Design Materials

Just like books, music, and films, house plans and design-related content are considered original works and are automatically protected by the U.S. Copyright Act (Title 17 of the United States Code). Protection includes, but is not limited to:

  • 2D artwork: Floor plans, elevations, layouts, and design sketches
  • 3D Renderings: Photorealistic images, conceptual models, visual walkthroughs
  • Technical Drawings: CAD files, blueprint sets, engineering layouts, construction documents
  • Visual Media: Photographs of homes, interior and exterior shots, design galleries
  • Videos: Walkthrough videos, promotional clips, 3D tours, construction or design footage
  • Written Content: Descriptions, articles, blog posts, and product copy

These works cannot be copied, modified, reused, published, distributed, or repurposed without the explicit written permission of the copyright holder.

Copying or Redrawing is a Violation

Modifying, redrawing, or tracing any protected plan, photo, or video, even with alterations, constitutes copyright infringement. Federal law grants the copyright owner exclusive rights to derivative works.

Even reproducing a constructed home based on a copyrighted plan or photo without access to the original drawings is illegal. If you wish to use a plan or visual content, you must purchase it legally through an authorized provider.

Single-Use Licensing Only

Unless otherwise stated, each plan or media asset purchased is licensed for single use only. You are authorized to build one home only from a set of plans, and display or use media only for the licensed project.

To build more than one home or use content in multiple projects, you must:

  • Purchase a multi-use or unlimited license, or
  • Pay a re-use or extended media license fee set by the original designer.

Please contact our office to determine license eligibility and associated costs for any specific plan, image, or video.

Reproduction and Distribution Restrictions

Blueprints, PDFs, blacklines, images, and videos may not be:

  • Copied or printed beyond the licensed use
  • Scanned or uploaded to other platforms
  • Posted to social media or marketing sites without a proper license
  • Reproduced by blueprint shops, copy centers, or contractors without authorization
  • Shared with third parties (builders, developers, marketers, etc.) without authorization

Each plan, photo, or video is protected as a stand-alone work. Copy centers and print shops may not reproduce any such content without evidence of licensing.

Modifications and Reproducible Sets

We offer reproducible sets (e.g., CAD files, PDFs) for clients who require changes to the original design. The purchase of these files allows modification for one-time construction use only.

Note: Even modified versions of a plan or media item remain derivative works and cannot be reused, resold, or published outside of the original project scope.

Structural changes must be made using appropriately licensed files. Simple visual markups ("redlining") are permitted for non-structural changes only. Modifications relieve the original designer of all liability and void any expressed or implied warranties.

Photos and Videos Cannot Be Reused or Republished

All photo and video content is subject to the same copyright protection as design materials. These media files:

  • May not be reproduced, republished, posted, or embedded online without written permission
  • May not be altered, edited, or distributed in any form
  • Are licensed for limited use in accordance with the terms of purchase or licensing agreement

Even if you modify or crop media content, you may not use it beyond the scope of your license.

Who Is Responsible for Copyright Infringement?

All parties involved in a copyright violation may be held liable, including:

  • Homeowners and builders
  • Designers, architects, and engineers
  • Developers and real estate agents
  • Drafters, media professionals, or subcontractors
  • Copy shops, blueprinting services, and social media marketers

Ignorance of the law is not a valid defense. Legal liability is shared by all involved, regardless of intent or knowledge.

Penalties for Copyright Infringement

Violators of federal copyright laws may be subject to:

  • Actual damages and recovery of lost profits
  • Statutory damages up to $150,000 per infringement
  • Reimbursement of legal and court fees
  • Cease and desist orders and takedown actions.

Violations involving media content (e.g., unauthorized video or photo use) are also subject to DMCA takedown provisions and potential platform bans or legal action.

Respect Creative Work and Licensing

Please respect the intellectual property and creative work that goes into every design, drawing, photo, and video published on our site. If you're unsure about usage rights or need clarification, contact our office before proceeding.
